How can I spend my next vacation at the Lenk in the Murmelibau apartment?

The rental of our Murmelibau apartment is managed by the Lenker agency FeWo Lenk. On behalf of second-home owners, FeWo Lenk rents out apartments in Lenk and Zweisimmen, which are also personally used by the owners and therefore individually furnished, just like ours.

Facilities

🍲Kitchen:

A standard kitchen equipment is provided. Compared to Italian or Spanish holiday apartments, it's likely more luxurious :-)
It also includes a raclette grill, a fondue pot with a rechaud, a hand mixer, an immersion blender, and more.
You can make your coffee with an easy-to-use CoffeeB machine. The user manual is hanging on the wall above the machine, and coffee capsules can be purchased at Migros (Zweisimmen); alternatively, you can use the Espresseria.
Salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, raclette and fondue spices, some tea, and coffee are usually available. Please do not add new items...

🛀🏼Bathroom:
The bathroom is equipped with a shower tub. It also includes a hairdryer and the usual amenities found in a bathroom. Toilet paper is located under the sink in the bathroom.

📺Television:
The appropriate favorites list should normally be saved, with Swiss channels followed by common German channels. If a message appears indicating the smart card is not activated, leave the TV tuned to the Kabelio Info or Kabelio 3+ channel for a few minutes, and it should work again. Feel free to use your Netflix, Prime, Disney+, etc. accounts over the Wi-Fi. The TV is connected to the internet.

🏪Shopping:

In Lenk, there is a Coop, a cheese dairy, various bakeries, and of course, sports and souvenir shops, all located in the town center. There’s also a gas station. In Zweisimmen, there’s a Migros, various discount stores, and other retail options.

🛌🏽Beds and Bed Linen:

The master bedroom has a double bed, and the children’s room has two single beds. The room with the bunk bed is not rented out. When booking through FeWo Lenk, bed linen is included in the package.

👕Laundry:

There is a washing machine in the basement, operated with 50-rappen coins. It’s best to quickly check the user manual to set the ideal washing time. A 50-rappen coin is enough for 27 minutes. Washed laundry can be hung up in the basement but should be taken down after one day.

🚲Bicycles:

You are welcome to take a short trip into the village on a bike, even without your own. There are two bicycles in the shed that you can use for free; the key for the lock is in the drawer to the right of the fridge (try out which one fits 😊). A pump and tools are in the garage if needed. Use at your own risk. You can securely store your own bikes in the garage. Biking, whether on a mountain bike, road bike, or gravel bike, is worth it in Simmental.

If it gets hot during summer and you need a refreshing break, the Wallbach Adventure Pool is just the place. Besides these activities in Simmental, there are numerous others like climbing, kayaking, horseback riding, and much more. Around the holiday apartment, you’ll also find many small farm self-service shops where you can usually buy delicious cheese, sausages, milk, yogurt, and other typical farm products.

Activities and Tips for the Area around Lenk (and within 25 km):

• Cable Cars: Use the cable cars to explore the breathtaking mountain landscapes of Simmental. Especially recommended are the funicular to Betelberg or the gondola to Leiterli.
• Hiking: The Lenk region offers numerous hiking trails for all difficulty levels. The trail to Simmenquelle or the Panorama Trail are particularly recommended.
• Mountain Biking: Discover a variety of mountain biking trails in the region, from leisurely valley routes to challenging downhill tracks.
• Thermal Baths Lenk: Relax after an active day in the thermal baths of Lenk and enjoy the warm water and views of the Alps.
• Winter Activities: In winter, the region transforms into a snow paradise with skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and winter hiking trails.
• Visit Zweisimmen: This charming town is just a short drive from Lenk and offers traditional architecture, museums, and cozy cafés.

Transport

Location and Directions

The "Murmelibau Lenk" holiday apartment is located at Sumpfach 11, 3775 Lenk in Simmental. In winter, the cross-country ski trail is just a few meters from the chalet. The Metsch Stand XPress valley station is about a ten-minute walk away.

By Car:

From Bern, follow the A6 towards Thun and take the exit for Zweisimmen and Lenk. The drive through the picturesque Simmental is an experience in itself. Follow the signs to Lenk and continue through the village towards the Adelboden-Lenk ski area. The holiday apartment is located about 800 meters past the Stand XPress cable car station. Cars can be parked in the garage or on public parking spaces diagonally opposite.

By Public Transport:

Lenk is well-connected by train. From the Lenk train station, it’s just a few minutes by bus, which stops directly in front of the apartment, or a short taxi ride to the holiday home. The bus stop for line 283, which connects Lenk station with the Simmenfälle, is located on the road in front of the house. The bus runs once an hour.
